Mary, Mary, How Does Your Garden Grow?

For a long time now, I’ve wanted to make some markers for the garden.  Especially when planting from seed, I like to know exactly where I’ve planted what.  And aside from that, I like the look of them all lined up, labelling what is being produced behind.  For these garden markers, I purchased some wooden utensils from the dollar store and painted them with two coats of chalkboard paint.  Once dry, I wrote the names of each of my veggies planted and then dug them into the garden.  I’m not too sure how the chalk writing will stand up to the upcoming summer storms we are expecting.  If the writing doesn’t last the weather, I might need to change to a permanent paint marker.  But for the moment, I think they look quite lovely.
