No-Reason {Gift} Planting

We have the type of neighbours who call out over the fence to say hello, who invite us for breakfast of the weekend and who, a few weekends ago, showed up at the front door with a present {a book of ideas around the home} for no reason at all.  We are very lucky.  One of the {many} wonderful ideas I’ve found within this book, is egg carton planting.  I planted some seeds two weeks ago – purple broccoli, green broccoli, sugar snap peas, cabbage and beetroot.  I’ve just checked on them this morning, and they have sprouted.  Very exciting.  Soon they’ll be ready to graduate to the big garden.

  1. Jess, Are you going to leave them in the egg carton?? I did this once – just cut the egg carton so you can properly space them in the garden . That way they don’t get disturbed and the carton just breaks down.

  2. Hello Jess,
I read your blog everyday and I was so excited to see that I am a part of todays issue.
I’m so pleased the book was useful. Can’t wait to see them fully grown.
    Lots of love x
