Winter Planting

We had a weekend recently where we spent both days in the garden, weeding all of the vegetable beds, fertilising, turning the soil and re-mulching.  So they are ready and waiting for plants to be planted.  Being winter, we’re a little limited as to what will grow, but at the Farmers’ Markets on Saturday, I picked up some different varieties of Kale (Cavolo Neo and Curly) a few seedlings of sorrel and some spinach.  I also had friend who had planted a heap of Italian greens and needed to thin them out, so he offered me the leftovers.  I was happy to oblige.  Now for a few days of sunshine to help these tiny seedlings on their way.
