Ice Ice Baby

On these hot and balmy days, there is nothing quite like a refreshing, fruity ice block to cool you down.  So I loaded up with seasonal fruit and made a few different varieties of ice blocks.  I used a selection of watermelon, pineapple, strawberry, mango, mixed and matched with some Maleny Yoghurt and froze them in two types of ice block makers (these and these).

Fruity Ice Blocks

{Pineapple & Watermelon}
1/4 pineapple, peeled and cut into small pieces
2 wedges of watermelon, cut into cubes
Whizzed together with stick blender

{Strawberry & Yoghurt}
2 x punnets of strawberries, washed and hulled
1/2 Cup Maleny Yoghurt
Whizzed together in processor

{Mango}
1 x mango, sliced into cubes
Whizzed together with stick blender

  1. Hi Jess, I just started following your blog this week and have already put your ice block idea into practice. My nine year old daughter and I have just spent a lovely hour chatting, chopping and blending. We innovated a little on the flavours and we didn’t have ice block makers so used disposable cups! I guess the proof will be in the eating – which we plan to do as soon as they set!!
