Sticks & Stones

Sticks & Stones

I’m a big believer in paying homage to what has gone before – no matter how small, there is something humbling about recognising the stories that have already been told.

When we bought our house we had a beautiful tree out the front that needed to be removed before we could begin renovations.  I felt a little sad at its departure so, collected a bundle of branches and had them sitting in an old suitcase until I worked out exactly how to include them in our decor.  It recently dawned on me that it didn’t need to be a big gesture – there was no need to over-think it.  I simply tied them with some ribbon and they now rest on an old hat box in our sitting room.
